I will incline mine ear to the parable, and shew my dark speech upon the harpfrom Psalm 49
+JMJ+How can I ever thank you for this slice of 80s goodness? =)Today's "Emos" only wish they could be this cool . . .
You're welcome, Enbrethiliel! (And I've never quite understood what emo is.)
+JMJ+I needed to hear a teenager to explain it, myself! Even then, I pretty much bluff my way through conversations. ;)Maybe this will help you bluff, too . . ."Emo" describes anyone who gets really fixated on the more wallow-friendly emotions. Truly "emo" teenagers are very depressed and probably cut themselves--but for some reason, their "look" is currently very chic. (Think of the way 80s and 90s bands glamourised drug use.) It's not just music, though. Twilight is a very emo movie. When in doubt, look at the hair: someone "emo" will let his bangs grow into his eyes. (Because he can't be bothered to cut it, you know, as he's too busy wallowing in his own misery.)In happier news, have you seen this:http://americanchestertonsociety.blogspot.com/2009/05/your-challenge-write-clerihew-about.html
Thanks for the definition of "emo," and yes, I submitted a clerihew! (It might require explanation: "Plaxico" is the given name of an American football player, and is oddly enough pronounced to rhyme with "Mexico.")It's almost 2 in the morning chez vous! Go to sleep!
Wow. You didn't really go to sleep, did you?
Hi Dylan,I sent you an award here:http://friendfeed.com/clairity/7e6d2296/dark-speech-upon-harp-lemonade-stand-award-toKeep up the great posts!Sharon
Many thanks, Sharon!
+JMJ+Hahahaha! I did go to sleep. How did you know?
Enbrethiliel,Given that it was about 2 in the morning, it was about time! (Insert goofy emoticon here.)I also went to sleep at about 2.15 this morning, and was up at the comparatively late hour ... of six thirty!
+JMJ+I have to ask . . . 6:30 AM or 6:30 PM?*ducks and runs*
AM my time, PM your time!
